1. Introduction
KPackViewer is a simple but hopefully useful package viewer for
the KDE project. A very humble contribution to this great project.
KPackViewer offers some aid to System Administrators because one
can see the structure of packages in general with some valuable
information too.
With this tiny tool any System Administrator can quickly and easy
compare the current status of the system with the package to be
installed or removed thus avoiding and helping in case of trouble
of automatic or semi-automatic installations.
- KPV can handle Skackware packages.
- KPV can handle RPM packages.
- KPV can handle Debian packages.
- KPV can handle TarGZip packages natural format of Slackware packs.
- KPV can handle Zip packages.
- KPV can handle BZip2 packages.
- KPV can handle LHA packages.
- KPV can handle Z and GZ packages.

KPV can Mount a Virtual Slackware folder allowing
anyone to see all Slackware packs as if they were
installed without having to install them...

KPV can show packages in a convenient Group Vision
were you can "clone" KPV widgets to view individual
items of the Group Structure by just double clicking
an item or selecting and pressing the clone button.

KPV can Search even INSIDE ALL packages in the Packages ListBox...
And using powerfull REGEXPS... This will give you
far easy simplicity to locate from where that single item
came from... You can also make Multiple selections so
that you can copy to clipboard and produce LOGs or even scripts
to automate every sort of package task...

KPV offers a very easy to use interface allowing
the user to browse packs with easy almost anywhere.
From Distribution Trees to CDROMs or even local folder repositories.
